Pat invited his mom for dinner. His mom notices how beautiful his room-mate was. She was suspicious of a relationship between the two.
During the evening, she noticed how the two interacted, she started to think. Seeing her stare at them Pat says "I know what you must be thinking, but we are just room-mates."
A week later, lily came to Pat and said, "After your mom came for dinner, I can't find the silver gravy ladle. You don't suppose she took it, do you?"
Pat said, "Well, I doubt it, but I'll mail her and ask."
So he mailed her.
Dear mom,
I'm not saying that you 'did' take the gravy ladle from my house, I'm not saying that you 'did not' take the gravy ladle but you see it's been missing ever since you were here for dinner."
His mom replies
Dear Son,
I'm not saying that you 'do' sleep with lily, and I'm not saying that you 'do not' sleep with lily. But the fact remains that if she was sleeping in her own bed, she would have found the gravy ladle by now. Love, Mom."
